I've had these cute fox pillows for quite a while now but still living with my parents means limited space for all my junk possessions and I didn't really have a home for them. I did have them on my bed but it meant having to put them some where else while I slept and I didn't like throwing them on the floor all the time.

I've had a plain wooden Ikea storage crate hanging around my room for years since I used it to keep one of my A Level projects in while I was working on it. It's been home to many things since then but recently I was thinking about giving it to a charity shop. I put it next to my bed one day and it suddenly came to me I could use it to store a couple of cushions in while I'm not using them. It's the perfect size to fit halfway under my bed as well.

The crate sat holding my cushions for a month or two but I wasn't one hundred percent happy with it as I'm not a fan of pine wood so I added a layer of Annie Sloan Paris Grey paint to it. It's the paint I always turn to when I'm not sure what to do with a piece of furniture. If I had enough of it and it wasn't so darn expensive I'd paint my bed with it as well!

A coat of paint and some spare casters and it's completely transformed and I love it. I still need to paint the inside but I was too happy with it and wanted to take some photos straight away. You'll be able to see the foxes sitting in it when I share some photos of the freshly painted wall in my bedroom.

  1. This is such a smart idea! I love changing up old pieces to see what I can do with them. :)
