I am terrible at keeping plants alive. I don't know what it is but no matter how little or often I water them, if they're in sunlight or shade, for whatever reason, they always die. I've even managed to kill a cactus before. One day when I was doing my weekly food shop in Asda I added a money plant to my basket and four years later it's still alive and looking pretty good. I've recently replanted it into a bigger pot, the orange and blue one in the photo, so it'll have even more room to grow.

Since then I've added even more house plants into my room but have kept along the same lines as the money plant. I've gone for plants that don't need much attention or water. I have a mix of money plants, succulents, cacti and peace lilies as well as a Swiss cheese plant. I'm also hoping to make another terrarium once I can find a place to buy mini succulents, so far all I'm finding is larger ones.

I just love how much of a difference a couple of plants in a room can make. I've even added a house plant board to my Pinterest. To say I've become obsessed is a bit of an understatement. I'd love to eventually have a whole house full of plants and hanging planters as well. One can dream!

  1. Me too! I am also terrible at keeping plants alive. Every time I got sick, my boyfriend always came home with a plant to wish me a get well soon. But they never lasted a week. Last month, my boyfriend came home with an orchid and they're still looking pretty now. So we're trying our luck and get a mint plant so that we can use the leaves for tea. I hope we can keep this one alive :p Our apartment looks so much better with plants :)
