Monthly Empties: June 2013

june 2013 beauty empties products i have finished rottenotter rotten otter blog Soap & Glory The Breakfast Scrub - This has to be one of my favourite scrubs purely because of the scent. It smells like maple syrup pancakes or porridge. An added bonus is that it's a very good body scrub! It leaves your skin very soft and moisturised but it doesn't leave that horrible oily residue like some do. I have a couple of other body scrubs to use but I will be buying another tub at some point.

This Works Deep Sleep Bath Soak - I really enjoyed using these bath salts and I'll buy another tub at some point. The scent is a mix of lavender and vetivert which I love and it definitely helps you to relax and unwind before bed.

The Body Shop Satsuma Body Butter - I love these body butters from The Body Shop as the scents are so strong. I'll apply it at night and I can still smell it when I wake up in the morning. They're a bit too heavy for me to use them on my body so I use them on my feet which can get very dry. I'm on a mission to use up all my products before buying new ones so wont need to buy a new one for a long time.

Elemis Tranquil Touch Creamy Body Wash - I can safely say this is one of my favourite scents in shower gels, a mix of almond oil, patchouli, cedarwood and vetivert. The body wash itself is creamy and moisturising on the skin and the lather is very luxurious. Although I wont be rushing out to spend nearly £20 on a shower gel I will buy another bottle at some point as a treat.

Liz Earle Instant Skin Boost Tonic* - This is the second bottle I've been through and I still love it. It's very soothing but refreshing on the skin and is a step in my skin care routine that I enjoy. I either spray it directly onto my face or pour some onto a cotton pad and wipe it over my face. Although I have a couple of other toners to use I will be buying another bottle at some point as there's a few Liz Earle products I've finished recently.

Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish Rose And Lavender* - I think I've come to the conclusion that my face doesn't like lavender in skin care products. It seemed to react slightly every time I used this and a couple of other products that contained lavender. It wasn't a horrible reaction, my skin just went slightly redder than normal which died down pretty quickly but that has only recently started to happen, my skin was fine when I first tried it. I also found because of the lavender I couldn't use it to take off my eye make-up. If this C&P only contained rose then I'd buy another bottle if it wasn't limited edition.

Aussie 3 Minute Miracle Deep Treatment* - This deep treatment is one of my old favourites and I've featured it a lot in my empties post. I still have a couple of bottles left over from when I was an Aussie Angel so I don't need to buy another one anytime soon.

This Works Perfect Skin Super Moisturiser - I was quite disappointed by this moisturiser as it had a lot of hype surrounding it when I bought it. It's a good moisturiser but nothing ground breaking or that impressive. I really like the packaging but I've found better moisturisers than this so I wont be repurchasing.

Vichy Eau Thermale Water Spray - I've only recently found a proper use for these water sprays as I never remember to pop them in my bag when it's hot so they've been siting in my skin care collection unused.  I watched one of Alix's videos in which she mentioned a video from Into The Gloss on how to cleanse your face properly. Intrigued, I watched it. Facialist Isabelle Bellis uses these types of water sprays to wet her face before using her cleanser and then again after she's removed her cleanser. This has turned a quite unnecessary product into something I use every day. As far as this one from Vichy goes, it works well but I've just ordered the Avene and La Roche-Posay versions so I wont be repurchase it, at least not for a while.

Institut Estherderm Cellular Revitalising Spray - I use this in the same way that I use the Vichy version. To be honest, I can't really tell the difference between these water sprays, they all seem to do the same thing so purely on the price, I wouldn't buy the full size of this.

Korres Guava Little Shower Gel - The scent of this is gorgeous, reminds me of sun tan lotion and holidays with a hint of fruit, perfect for summer. The formula of Korres shower gels are one of my favourites, they're moisturising, feel great on the skin and create a really nice lather, more milky and frothy and bubbles. I already have another mini and the full size so no need to repurchase just yet although I will eventually.
